Kurrawa Surf Club last night took out three prestigious Keno & Clubs Queensland Awards for Excellence.
Over 1100 guests from across the State attended the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre event to see Kurrawa Surf Club take home the 2017 trophies for:
Best Club Gold Coast;
Best Community Service by a Licensed Club [Small Club]; and
Best Surf Life Saving Supporters Club.
Clubs Queensland Chief Executive Officer, Doug Flockhart, congratulated Kurrawa Surf Club on their multiple award successes.
“Kurrawa Surf is an integral part of the local Gold Coast community, and last year alone donated around $2 million to 28 different charities, businesses, sporting organisations and community groups,” Mr Flockhart said.
“The Club is also currently in the process of constructing a new $16 million clubhouse to further enhance their state of the art lifesaving facilities. They should also be recognised for contributing $500,000 towards the construction of the 70m long seawall fronting Kurrawa Beach.”
Mr Flockhart also thanked Ainsworth Game Technology, Club Training Australia and Westpac for sponsoring the respective Awards in 2017.
“Our generous sponsors help make the Keno & Clubs Queensland Awards for Excellence the premiere event for the Queensland Clubs industry and allows members from across the State to come together and celebrate the collective and individual achievements of our vibrant $2.2 billion industry.” Mr Flockhart said.
